Online Worship: The Eleventh Sunday after Pentecost
The Rector’s Bible Study
The Rector’s Bible Study – Fall 2025
Join St. Martin’s rector, Alan Bentrup, for a weekly journey through The Big Story of God: Walking Through Scripture, Tradition, and Life. Starting September 10, we’ll gather each Wednesday at 10:30 am in the new conference room and online to explore the sweep of God’s work in the world, from creation to covenant, from prophets to parables, from resurrection to the Church today.
This year’s study will ground us in our Episcopal way of reading the Bible, holding together Scripture, tradition, and reason. Each week includes teaching, conversation, and space for your questions. All are welcome, whether you’re opening the Bible for the first time or have studied it for years.

Elderberries
Come and join St. Martin’s Elderberries Community
Who are the Elderberries?
The Elderberries are a community of parishioners aged 60+ who meet monthly, support each other, fellowship, plan activities, and reach out to others within St. Martin’s and the Keller/Southlake community. Since we are new, we need your creativity, enthusiasm and organizational skills.
Elderberries Meeting Dates and Time
We meet on the third Tuesday of the month at noon in the large hall for a potluck lunch. Please bring a dish to share if you are able.
Current Elderberries Plans
At the monthly meetings, we will visit, break bread and assemble 200 Student Snack Packs in cooperation with the Community Storehouse in Keller. Come and lend a hand as we help “the least among us” at our local schools.
A lunch/miniature golf outing (tournament?)/ice cream shop visit is being planned. Come on Tuesday and learn more about this activity.

EfM
EfM (Education for Ministry) is returning to St. Christopher’ Episcopal Church in Fort Worth in September. Since 2011, more than 35 people from multiple congregations have participated at St. Christopher’s in this four-year, small-group formation program based on study and practice in theological reflection. This seminar-style class will be offered once a week for 36 weeks, under the guidance of trained mentors Marti Fagley and The Rev. Ron Pogue. Seminar size is limited to 6-12 students. The cost of this sponsored program is $375 per year (some scholarships are available). EfM is a Certificate program administered by the School of Theology at the University of the South in Sewanee, Tennessee. We promise this will be a life changing journey with God.
Meetings – Our group will meet on Tuesday afternoons, starting September 9. Registration will begin August 19.
Living in Community – We value creating sacred space where people feel welcomed and safe.
Regular Prayer and Worship – We recognize the presence of God with us in every session, and we explore ways to deepen our individual spirituality.
Theological Reflection (TR) – Our conversations take on an added dimension in EfM’s model of theological reflection.
Study – EfM materials root us in Christian scripture, history, theology, and ethics.
Vocational Discernment – It is not so much about what a person does, but how a person lives with purpose.
Our group will meet on Tuesday afternoons, starting September 2. Registration will begin August 19. For further information contact Marti Fagley (mfagley@aol.com or 817-637-1820) or The Rev. Ron Pogue (rpogue@icloud.com or 832-576-9019). You may also want to check out the University of the South’s EfM website https://theology.sewanee.edu/education-for-ministry.
