Trunk or Treat & Chili Cookoff wrapped up with good-natured fun
A beautiful and hot noonday on Sunday, October 28 gave us the opportunity for outdoor fun as we enjoyed Trunk or Treat in our parking lot. What a crowd! Kids of all ages trick or treated and played games, while everyone socialized. It was rowdy fun! Click and swipe through the gallery below of our outside photos.
Inside, our Chili Cookoff and potluck was also a treat! Joe Soesbe and Father Scot McComas were our Chili Cookoff winners, with Joe taking second place and Scot taking first. Crowd favorite was selected by donations or slips of paper dropped by each crock, and Scot won the crowd favorite. Joe and Scot have bragging rights for a year, or until our next cookoff.
We’re grateful to Janna Soesbe and Nancy Wieden for making our hall inviting as we gathered, for all who decorated a trunk for our Trunk or Treat fundraiser, for all who brought a dish to share, and for all who gathered in fellowship. Thanks also to Chili judges Jana Soesbe, Chuck Ambrose & Chris Mullaney who evaluated every chili in a blind tasting! Trunk or Treat and the Chili Crowd Favorite donations benefitted both our Children’s and Youth Ministries, and we raised $358!
