Pentecost Weekend

The weekend of June 8-9 we will celebrate the gift of Holy Spirit at Pentecost! As you join us at church, wear red to celebrate the Holy Spirit. At all of our weekend services you’ll be able to hear scripture readings in multiple languages. Our 10:30 am service will have incense!

When the day of Pentecost had come, they were all together in one place. And suddenly from heaven there came a sound like the rush of a violent wind, and it filled the entire house where they were sitting. Divided tongues, as of fire, appeared among them, and a tongue rested on each of them. ~Acts 2:1-3

Can you read aloud in another language?

Are you comfortable reading aloud in another language? Would you like to help at one of our Pentecost services? Together we will recite the first reading, Acts 2:1-21, in multiple languages! Please contact Father Scot McComas at scot.mccomas@stmartininthefields.org if you would like to read. Let us know if you need a translation!

What is Pentecost about?

Pentecost celebrates the coming of the Holy Spirit upon the apostles 50 days after Jesus Christ rose from the dead. The Holy Spirit is symbolized by fire, which is why people wear red to Pentecost services, and also by a dove.
