I became a member of this congregation in 2013/14 but have been a member of the Episcopal Church my entire life. Growing up, I began serving my church at 12 as an Acolyte, and then with the Youth Group, eventually becoming a youth leader. I was awarded the Bishops Medal for service to the church and community when I was a senior in high school. I was called back to serve the church after graduating college to lead the youth group again as an adult, mentoring some of the same youths that I watched grow up. When I was looking for a church to raise my children in I knew it had to be the Episcopal Church, but after one visit to St. Martin’s, I knew I had found the church. The most valuable thing I have to give is my time and whether it is being part of the Holy Mowers, or spring clean ups, or moving church pews, or my service in my youth; my service has always been my time. After having been a member of this congregation for 10+ years and receiving nothing but love from the first day, I feel the need to give back to the church so that more people can experience what I have. I feel called to be on the Vestry to give my time and knowledge of lessons learned from my past in order to help us continue to progress into the future.
