The fun at St. Martin-in-the-Fields Episcopal Church & School was non-stop on October 29! About 110 folks enjoyed Trunk or Treat in our parking lot, and then most moved inside for potluck and our delicious chili cookoff.
Fun in the parking lot benefitted mission trips, and teens roamed the parking lot with youth minister Megan Grant, visiting trunks, talking about the purpose. Kids of all ages enjoyed showing off their costumes to friendly folks with decorated cars who offered games or treats. It was the friendly, jostling fun that St. Martin’s is known for.

Potluck
This was our largest 5th Sunday Potluck yet, with 90 to 100 people, and fellowship was a-plenty as folks sampled chili and other food. We rolled out more tables and chairs as people filtered in. It’s always a great time when we can meet new people and connect with friends while eating.
Chili cookoff
Our chili cookoff had nine entries, each delicious and unique.
Winners were:
- Crowd favorite, selected by donations for youth missions or slips of paper dropped in jars by each crock: “The Winner” by Camille Schulter, a medium-heat red chili
- Second place: “Texas Chunk” by Garrison Sutton, a mild-heat red chili
- First place: “The Winner” by Camille Schulter
The winners were given a spoon plaque to celebrate their fame, plus aprons created by Cherise Mutchler of Cowtown Sparkle.
