Sunday School for Children and Teens

This Sunday, children and youth will be busy in the education building during the 10:30am service. Children ages 4-12 years will be practicing for the upcoming Epiphany pageant. Teens will continue to work on their art project and sermon. There will be no Sunday School for children and teens next Sunday, December 28. Nursery will be available for children ages 0-3 in the education building.

Nursery (Birth – 3 years)

Miss Mayra and Miss Georgeann will continue to celebrate Advent with our youngest children. Through songs, a short chapel service and stories, our little ones are learning that Jesus is coming into the world!

Children (4 years – 6 Grade)

We are learning some fun new songs this week during our practice for the Epiphany pageant. The Epiphany pageant has lots of dates and times that you need to know about. Read below about all the details:

Important Dates for the Epiphany Pageant

  • Sunday, December 21: 10:30am Practice
  • Sunday, December 28: No practice, no Sunday School
  • Saturday, January 3: 9am-11:30am Dress Rehearsal in the sanctuary; Angels need not be present for dress rehearsal.
  • Saturday, January 3: 4:30pm Cast arrival
  • Saturday, January 3: 5pm  Epiphany Pageant in the sanctuary
  • Saturday, January 3: 6pm After party in the large parish hall

Teens (7 – 12 Grade)

The teens will be finishing up an Advent art project, recreating the four weeks represented by the Advent wreath. Teens will be rehearsing and going over readings and making edits to their sermon. They will also put some last-minute touches to their project. Using 8 foot tall foam board, paint, glitter and lots of creativity, teens have created a fresh way to retell a Godly Play story.

More about the Art Project and Dress Rehearsal

Teens who are participating in the youth sermon on Sunday, January 4 at the 10:30am service need to attend a brief dress rehearsal on Saturday, January 3 from noon-1pm. The teens will need to make final revisions and practice their readings. Then on Sunday, January 4, during the 10:30am service, the teens will present their project to the parish and explain the story behind their work.
