The Kingdom of God is among you

In her sermon this week, the Rev. Jan James picks apart the meaning of the gospel reading. Jesus tells the disciples, “do not be afraid.” And yet, he also warns them that “you must be ready.” Mother Jan goes on to ask, “what do we need to prepare for?”  And her answer is that we need to prepare ourselves to be able to listen to God, to trust God, and to realize that God’s kingdom is not something to wait for at your death, but is a reality we can make when we take a leap of faith.
