The art of forgiveness

In his sermon this week, our guest preacher the Rev. Hunter Ruffin explores the meaning of the gospel reading. When Peter asks Jesus, “How many times should I forgive?” Jesus answers “Not seven times, but seventy-seven.” Father Hunter explains that what Jesus meant is that no matter how long it takes, no matter how many times, you should always forgive. More than that, you should make a habit of forgiving. It is through sharing our lives with our neighbors and communities, asking them to forgive our mistakes, and forgiving them for theirs, that strong relationships with each other and with God are formed.
