Forgiveness is hard work

This week, the Rev. Scot McComas talks to us about forgiveness. He relates the story of Joseph and his brothers, who in jealousy, sold Joseph as a slave. If anyone had a right to be angry or to want to seek revenge, it would be Joseph. But instead of hatred or resentment, he chose love, and forgave his brothers. Father Scot relates his own stories as well, illustrating that forgiveness does not come without work. But he asks us to look inside ourselves, find the hardened places, and see if we can’t do the work of softening them to love and forgiveness.
