What can I do for You?

This past Sunday, Youth Minister Rev. Megan Grant and Music Minister DeShay Jackson took a tag-team approach to the sermon. In the style of Womanist Preaching, which uses a philosophy of challenging all oppressive forces, Megan & DeShay took it in turns to discuss equality versus equity in our daily lives. They challenged the congregation to see people as individuals – to look upon each face within the masses, to see through the lens of equity, as Jesus did. And as the woman Lydia, in our first bible lesson challenges John: “If you have judged me to be faithful to the Lord, come and stay at my home,” so our ministers challenge us to ask of others: If you have judged me to be faithful, what can I do for you?
