In his sermon this week, the Rev. Christopher Thomas uses an Aesop’s fable to illustrate this week’s gospel reading of Jesus being plagued by the trickster Satan in the wilderness. Father Christopher talks about the solid edges of a beginning and an end to a journey, but in the middle of the journey, in the middle of the wilderness, there is disorientation. He asks, how did Jesus come through his 40 days’ journey? How will we? The answer is trust in God.
