In this week’s gospel reading, Jesus tells the Jews, “I am the living bread that came down from heaven. Whoever eats of this bread will live forever; and the bread that I will give for the life of the world is my flesh.” The Rev. Christopher Thomas in his sermon, speaks about their incredulity in the face of such a claim. They wanted to have the presence of God in their lives, but trusting that this guy Jesus was the way to God was a bit much for them to swallow. Father Christopher tells us that disbelief is a human condition. But with faith and through the ministry of being present in all that we do, we are invited by Jesus to the “celestial feast.”
