In her sermon this week, the Rev. Jan James talks about the meaning behind this week’s Old Testament reading. She also speaks about the over-arching narrative of the entire Bible: that God is forever teaching us how to grow, both as individuals and as humanity. Jesus came to us as God’s way of giving us a tangible, human face for the divine. And Jesus in turn knew that his way of loving was not an easy concept. So though we are still growing, Jesus will meet us wherever we are on this journey of faith.
