In his sermon this week, The Rev. Ayo Omoniyi talks about Jesus as the good shepherd, and how we as his sheep have a special relationship with him. It is Jesus’ job as shepherd to protect & defend us, and it is our job to follow his teachings. As such, it is also our job to be good shepherds to others: to our friends, neighbors, children, and especially to those that we may not agree with. Deacon Ayo encourages us to never be afraid to share our faith with others. In fact, it is our duty as Christians to speak out against atrocities and to seek a better world for those that follow us.
