We’re going to have a pulpit exchange with Good Shepherd Roman Catholic Community. Each church will have a different preacher on Sunday, January 20, to round out our ecumenical dialogue, to strengthen our mutual understanding, and to unite us in our common desire to draw closer to God who loves us all. This particular Sunday is chosen because it falls in the internationally-observed Week of Prayer for Christian Unity, observed from January 18- 25, between the feast days of St. Peter and St. Paul. In this week we pray and act for the unity of the Church.
Father Richard Eldredge will deliver the sermon at St. Martin-in-the-Fields at our 10:30 am service, and St. Martin’s will welcome the group from Good Shepherd in worship and in fellowship. After the service ends, we can get to know one another better over coffee, lemonade, and snacks, and talk about our shared experiences.
Father Scot McComas will deliver a sermon at Good Shepherd Roman Catholic Community at 11 am, and you are welcome to attend Mass there and share fellowship with our sisters and brothers in Christ at Good Shepherd.
