On Sunday, April 3, St. Martin-in-the-Fields Episcopal Church blessed prayer shawls that are ready to wrap people in our community in warmth, love and prayer. The Prayer Shawl Ministry knitted or crocheted 15 shawls, 3 lapghans (lap blanket afghans), and 17 chemo caps. The children of our congregation laid hands on the handmade items and added their prayers and blessing as the rest of the congregation prayed.

If you know someone who needs comfort and prayer, perhaps they need a prayer shawl. Please contact one of our clergy, contact the church office, or contact prayer shawl ministry leader Kathy Wilkinson.
Recipients have said that being wrapped in a prayer shawl is like being hugged by Jesus. If you want to help share that love, all are welcome to crochet, knit, tie, or quilt. Many ministry members meet regularly, and others contribute from home. Connect with Kathy Wilkinson to get started!
