The Rev. Paula Jefferson
Paula Jefferson has been a member of St. Martin-in-the-Fields for more than 20 years. She earned a Master of Divinity degree at The Episcopal Seminary of the Southwest in 2018. After postulancy, Paula was ordained into the Deaconate in June 2020. She began her curacy at St. Martin’s on July 1, 2020. Pastoral care and Christian formation are her areas of emphasis.
Paula is a Texas transplant. Raised in Pennsylvania, Paula attended The Pennsylvania State University, graduating in 1983 with a BS-Accounting. In 1985, her accounting career presented an opportunity in Texas; attracted to the sunny climate, Paula moved to Bedford, Texas.
An avid hiker, Paula has hiked extensively in the Smoky Mountain National Park, Rocky Mountains, Big Bend National Park, Yosemite National Park, and internationally. Pilgrimages along the Via Francigena (Italy) and Compostela de Santiago (France) are highlights in her travel and spiritual journals.
Gardening, reading, and cooking are quieter activities enjoyed with Dursey (dog) and Lion (cat). A fishing pole and bait are welcome companions, too. The fish are not too concerned.
