New Year's message from the Rev. Scot McComas

Dear friends in Christ,
Merry Christmas (because we celebrate a full 12 days!) and Happy New Year! As 2017 comes to an end, I want you to know how much our church staff and vestry and I appreciate your love, support, energy and investment in our church. We are very grateful for your part in God’s work at St. Martin-in-the-Fields. Thank you for your partnership!
Today as I was looking at my new-ish 2018 calendar, I marveled at the opportunity a new year brings. It’s a humbling and exciting thing to see a new year full of prayer, worship, and compassionate service unfold in our community of faith. As this new year unfolds, perhaps as you break out your own 2018 calendar, stop for a moment. Consider how you can make a fresh beginning in our church’s ministry. Is there something new-to-you that you want to be involved in? Are there opportunities you will reach for in faith and in service? A community full of prayer, faith, compassion, and active service can reveal God to others in north Tarrant County, and we share in that purpose.
In this season of anticipation, I offer this Christmas blessing from Ray Pritchard:

May you be filled with the wonder of Mary, the obedience of Joseph, the joy of the angels, the eagerness of the shepherds, the determination of the Magi, and the peace of the Christ child. Almighty God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit bless you now and forever. Amen

May God be glorified in our lives, our homes, and our church in 2018.
Faithfully in Christ,
The Rev. Scot McComas
Rector

In every opportunity that this season brings, I encourage you to grow deeper in faith and use your unique gifts to serve our gracious God. May God’s peace fill you and God’s Spirit inspire you.
