The second annual Festival-in-the-Fields activity last weekend was a very successful event. Saturday’s weather was perfect, unlike last year when we had intense rainstorms throughout the day.
The sounds of children laughing and screaming in joy set the standard for the entire day. The 18 foot inflatable slide was a huge success, with everyone from ages 2-13 enjoying the fun. I even saw one grandmother take her grandson down the slide. There was bobbing for apples and the kids loved decorating their own pumpkins for Halloween. Everyone had a great time – even two of the dogs brought to the festival from the SPCA that were adopted.
There was a “brisk” business all day at the food tent and the new, this year, beer tent. Best hotdogs and beer I’ve had in a long time! The bake sale was sold out, and even though there was no way we could have sold out of books, we made a pretty darn good dent in the stock. The silent auction was an enormous success and we were only left with two items after the bidding stopped (a set of golf clubs and 4-tickets to TMS).
Everyone who attended had a blast. If you didn’t make it this year – you really missed out.
Thanks to the entire festival team for another successful year. Like everything, you made this event a success. God bless y’all.
