Episcopal Youth Event #EYE17

Episcopal Youth Event 2017

Every three years, The Episcopal Church convenes an international youth event so “that the energy of the youth of the Episcopal Church can continue to be utilized in active ministry as members of the Body of Christ.”

This year, the 2017 Episcopal Youth Event (#EYE17) is set to welcome more than 1,300 participants, workshop leaders, speakers, and volunteers to the campus of the University of Central Oklahoma in Edmond from July 10-14.

Participants meet, worship, serve and have fun with other Episcopal youth from around the world. EYE17 will be held July 10-14, 2017 in Edmond, Oklahoma on the campus of the University of Central Oklahoma. Since the first EYE in 1982, this popular event has welcomed thousands of young people from across the Episcopal Church for celebration, worship, learning, and leadership training.

The Theme for EYE17, Path to Peace, is a call for participants to focus on peacemaking and the ways each member of the Jesus Movement can pursue a path to peace. Teens will come back from the experiences of celebration, worship, learning, and fellowship ready to witness and serve, with transformed hearts and minds.

The schedule for EYE17 is here. On Wednesday of EYE17, the Episcopal Diocese of Oklahoma is sponsoring “Oklahoma City Day,” a pilgrimage of sorts to various locations in the area, including a visit to the Oklahoma City National Memorial and Museum and a candlelight vigil at the Outdoor Symbolic Memorial.

Please pray for the success of #EYE17 and the teens and adult chaperones from our diocese!
