Deanery meeting on February 21
The first 2019 meeting of the Fort Worth East Deanery is 7 pm, Thursday, February 21 at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church in Hurst.
A deanery is a geographic grouping of congregations who collaborate on governance issues and ministry projects for their region. One item of business at this deanery meeting will be to elect officers in to be in compliance with the new Canons of the diocese:
11.5.2. Deaneries shall meet at least twice each year; once in January or early February to elect Deanery Representatives to Executive Council and officers of the Deanery and again within 30 days prior to the first day of the Diocesan Convention in order to be briefed and to provide feedback on the diocesan budget and other matters that will be coming before the Executive Council and the Diocesan Convention.
The elected positions are:
- Dean (two year term)
- Sub-dean (two year term)
- Secretary (two year term)
- Executive Council Representative (one year term)
- Executive Council Representative, alternate (one year term)
Everyone is invited, and delegates elected from congregations are encouraged attend.
The churches in the Fort Worth East Deanery are:
- St. Alban, Arlington
- St. Luke’s in the Meadow, Fort Worth
- St. Stephen, Hurst
- St. Martin-in-the-Fields, Keller
