Backpack blessings & fall Sunday School kickoff

Backpack blessings

We offer backpack blessings to students and teachers at all services on August 25-26. You don’t have to bring a backpack, but it’s fun if you do! All students, teachers and school volunteers – whether you’re in daycare, preschool, public school, private school, home school, Sunday School, college, or graduate school – you’re invited to receive a special blessing! Our congregation will pray for the excitement of learning, scholastic achievement and personal growth as we begin a new school year. In the fall and during the school year, kids learn in four levels of age-based curricula in different classrooms.

Sunday School program shifts, offering more age-based curricula at 10:30

On August 26, we will shift our Sunday School program starting location and age-based breakout! Parents, sign your kids in to our school building’s large east parish hall. Teens will learn and share what it means to be a follower of Jesus today, and tackle tough questions about faith. Children ages 3 years through 6th grade will have age-based curricula described here. All kids will return to church in time for Holy Communion.

Come join us – volunteer!

Consider serving on our Sunday School and teen teams this year! We’re looking for people to help children on their journey with God. Will you give a little of your time and use your unique gifts to minister to our young people? It’s easy and fun and you won’t have to miss out on your own spiritual development! Most Sunday School volunteers serve just once a month. We have opportunities to serve all age levels, so please put this call to ministry in your hearts! It’s an awesome way to be engaged and to grow.

For more information and to volunteer contact Liza Goodner about preschool through 6th grade and Megan Grant for grades 7-12.
