Summer Outreach

Outreach Week – June 18-21

June 19 is Juneteenth, and St. Martin’s will celebrate the holiday in service to our neighbors. All youth and adults are encouraged to volunteer for any or all 3 days.

Tuesday and Friday we will meet in St. Martin’s parking lot at 8:15 am and carpool to 4Saints & Friends Episcopal Food Pantry. On those days we’ll assist in the food bank with sorting, stocking, loading, etc. On Friday we’ll also help families shop for food. We’ll be done by noon and will have lunch afterwards.

On Thursday, we’ll meet in the large parish hall at 9 am to put together “Blessing Bags.” Blessing bags are bags full of necessities such as non-perishable food, gift cards, toiletires, etc. The idea is to keep several in your car and hand them to those on the streets. The problem of homelessness persists in our city, and these bags are a way to show people we care, and want to help.

We’ll have a few other fellowship activities planned that day, as well as lunch.
