We are pleased to share the news that the Mission and Outreach Committee of the Episcopal Diocese of Fort Worth has awarded St. Martin-in-the-Fields $1,000 for Service Sunday, and $2,800 for “Walk a Mile in My Shoes.” These programs directly effect individuals in need in our community and follow our mission statement to be the heart, hands and feet of Jesus.
Both of these important ministries offer help to the homeless served by Union Gospel Mission of Tarrant County (UGM). Service Sunday provides bagged lunches once a month, and “Walk a mile in my shoes” provides new work shoes to men who are working or are seeking employment.
We thank Joy Malmgren, Megan Grant & Norma Barbier for their ongoing work with these outreach ministries.
The Diocesan Mission and Outreach Committee reached its decision at its August 18, 2018 meeting & it has been endorsed by the Diocesan Finance Committee and the Executive Council.
