In our worship service on September 27, 2015, St. Martin-in-the-Fields Episcopal Church formally instituted the Deborah chapter of the Order of the Daughters of the King®, received members of the chapter  and  installed officers and a chaplain. It was a milestone for our church and a celebration of new ministry.
All the women of the Daughters of the King (DOK) are committed to prayer, service, and evangelism. Our congregation promised to support DOK members in their ministry. Members were presented with crosses to remember the words of Jesus, “take up your cross and follow me.” Officers installed were Linda Snow, president; Jeniffer Varley,  vice president; Claire Abraham, secretary;  Kathy Bedell, treasurer.  The Rev. Susan Slaughter was installed as the chaplain of the order, to be a spiritual guide and advisor and to provide pastoral care.

May your love, O Lord, help the Daughters live lives of love, and may your holiness lead them to be examples of virtue, that they, strengthened by your Holy Spirit, may pray and serve you all their days, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
