Building the Tomb-Lenten Project Update

Last Sunday, children, teens and adult volunteers listened to the story of Jesus’ road to the cross and death.  After Jesus died, he was laid in a tomb.  We talked about how this seemed to be the sad end of Jesus’ story.  But, Jesus was more than just a teacher.  As the Son of God, Jesus took our sins and defied his death on the cross.  On Easter morning, we will see a God who conquers death and lives again!

The children painted, added texture to “stones” and built a tomb for Jesus.  This Sunday, March 16th, we will add the finishing touches to our tomb during Sunday school starting at 10:30 AM in the Education Building.  Wear paint clothes and join us! On Good Friday, a large stone will be rolled in front of the tomb.  When Easter morning comes, we will find a tomb with a rolled away stone and a King that lives!
