The students at St. Martin’s Episcopal School started their day in a special way on Ash Wednesday, February 10. Students were greeted at the door of the school building with heart stickers. They were also asked if they had anything they wanted to pray for and prayers were added to a prayer chalkboard that was used in chapel later that morning.
At chapel, children sang “Jesus Loves Me” and prayers were read from the chalkboard. Students were very excited about the special day and learned that God loves them very much. Even very small children can understand that Ash Wednesday is a time to remember that we belong to God forever.
