A New Beginning

When you pass through the waters I will be with you. Isaiah 43:2a

God, you were present at the beginning. Be with us as we begin a new start for The Episcopal Youth Community (EYC.) Comfort us when we are unsure of our new surroundings. Strengthen us when we stumble, and help us to remember that your light shines in all places. All this we ask through you, our Creator, Redeemer, and Sustainer.  Amen.
– A prayer for new beginnings from the book “Call On Me.”

As we are moving through the month of March, not only am I new to the position of Youth Minister, but the earth, our island home, is going through new life as well. Spring is such a happy and busy time for everyone: Spring Break, getting closer to graduation, confirmation, and the coming of Easter joy. All these things have such a great happiness to them, but remember that this is also a time of great reflection and prayer. Many of you don’t know me well yet, but the Lenten season is one of my most favorite parts of the church year. There are so many different types of services and I hope all of you will join me. I am very excited to be going through this journey with you.
