Our church joyously installed a acolytes in a special part of our 10:30 a.m. worship on Sunday, November 17, recognizing and prayerfully accepting those in this particular service ministry. Traditionally, the installation service is on the day we celebrate our patron saint, Martin of Tours, and so it was again this year.
We were delighted and thankful that a visit from the Rt. Rev. Rayford B. High, Jr., bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Fort Worth, coincided with our installation and commissioning service. The bishop offered his blessing to the guild along with his hearty appreciation for the service acolytes offer our church.
Jack Bolerjack and Jacob Tiemann were installed senior acolyte masters and senior master thurifers. We recognized Jack Heckel as junior acolyte master and junior master thurifer. We also installed Sarah Pannell, Ifedayo Omoniyi and Stephen Blomstrom as new members to the thurifer teams.
The acolyte guild has 31 members ranging in age from first grade through adult. The guild is dedicated to the service of our Lord by assisting at the altar and actively participating during all worship services. Members practice monthly to improve their skills and to incorporate new members. The acolyte guild welcomes anyone to join!
