This December, we reached out together, into our community and shared God’s love. We partnered with three organizations to meet unique needs.

Stocking stuffers for 4 Saints Food Pantry

This year we worked with St. Alban’s and the other area churches in our deanery to provide stuffed Christmas stockings for families served by 4Saints Episcopal Food Pantry. 4Saints’ fights food insecurity in Fort Worth’s Meadowbrook community. The bags and gifts you gave were set up at St. Luke’s, where the pantry resides. On December 7, 4Saints was able to give out 120 bags and 150 stockings, and the pantry served more clients with our gifts on blustery, drizzly December 14. It is humbling to be at the pantry on a Friday and see the faces of the people we serve receiving food and gifts we provided.

Children’s books for Texans Can Academy

We gave an overflowing basket of 62 children’s books to help parents read to their young children! These books were for students at Texans Can Academy of Fort Worth, a charter school that aims to give teens a second chance at high school. This collection kicked off at our Advent Fest on December 2 and went through December 16.

Angel Tree for Union Gospel Mission of Tarrant County

You gave Christmas gifts to 38 children at Union Gospel Mission of Tarrant County. In addition, you gave gifts to adults: new pillows & sheets, socks & undershirts, shoes, and more. Your gifts of wrapping paper helped make everyone’s Christmas brighter! UGM volunteers received these gifts from us on December 20.

Thank you to all who gave to make this season fulfilling for others!

Like so many things in life, there is far more involved in loving and serving others than just things that we buy. At a time of year when Christmas reveals the gift of our God who loves us all, we provide love and hope and intentional, personal support to the poor, struggling, and homeless in our county. Let’s continue in fruitful ways to live out our church’s core value of service – to share the abundance of our resources, talents and love with each other in our community, country and around the world.
