Dr. Joseph Henry
Bemidji, Minnesota “First city on the Mississippi” native, Joe Henry, recently moved to Dallas after spending the past six years as Assistant Organist at St. Mark’s Cathedral in Shreveport, and Assistant Professor at Grambling State University in Grambling, Louisiana. He has also taught at the University of Minnesota (Minneapolis), Concordia University (St. Paul, MN), Louisiana Tech University (Ruston, LA) and Union County College (Cranford, NJ).
He has served the church as a choir director, music director, organist and vocal soloist for over forty years.
His degrees are in piano performance from the Cleveland Institute of Music (BM, MM, accompanying) and the Manhattan School of Music (DMA, vocal accompanying), and organ performance from the University of Minnesota (MM, DMA).
Joseph is a twenty-year veteran of the U.S. Army (piano player, chaplain assistant and combat engineer) and is a Returned Peace Corps Volunteer (Romania 1998-2000).
He spends his free time talking to strangers, making new friends, working out at the gym, doing yoga and reading.
