Vestry (2025)
817-431-2396
Bob Bess is a lifelong Episcopalian & native New Mexican. He became an acolyte as a teenager at St. John’s Cathedral in Albuquerque and met his future wife, Phyllis while serving as an acolyte. In May, 1982, Bob & Phyllis moved their family from Albuquerque to DFW. They found their way to St. Martin’s in 1983.
Bob & Phyllis raised their two children with the help of the St. Martin’s church family. It truly takes a village to raise children and St. Martin’s was and is their village. They are proud grandparents of 4 (and a half!) wonderful grandchildren.
Bob has served the church as a vestry member, Junior Warden, Senior Warden, usher, Director of Christian Education and Stewardship Chair.
For twenty years Bob worked in the publishing industry and traveled throughout the U.S. In 2000 he was able to make a dream career change and became a teacher. Bob is a second grade teacher in the Birdville School District where he has served children and parents for 19 years. Working to educate our future leaders and help children develop a love for reading and lifelong learning is Bob’s passion.
