Amanda Alvarez

Vestry (2024)

I became a member of St. Martin-in-the-Fields early in 2020. I currently serve on the Regathering Committee.

My family moved to Texas from my hometown, Mobile, AL, where we were members of Trinity Episcopal Church. I served as a Vestry member there for two years. I was involved in several programs including Catechesis of the Good Shephard and coordinating meal delivery for new parents.

I earned a master’s degree in Health Education from the University of South Alabama and I am an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC). I also hold a bachelor’s degree in Communication from Spring Hill College, a small Jesuit college in Mobile.

I work as Education and Enrichment Manager for Mothers’ Milk Bank of North Texas where I direct clinical, educational, and health equity programs. I am an active volunteer at Abide Women’s Health Services in South Dallas. My professional and volunteer roles often center the intersection of reproductive and social justice.

I’ve been married to my husband Justin for 16 years. We are raising our three children, Louise (13), Nathan (11), and Maggie (7), in Grapevine. I am a runner, outdoor enthusiast, and avid home-cook.
