Service Sunday makes 200 sack lunches for the homeless served by the Union Gospel Mission of Tarrant County. This fun & energetic ministry welcomes all of any age to be involved – we really do have jobs for everyone! Join in on the second Sunday at noon, and work for 30 minutes to fight hunger in Tarrant County!
This monthly ministry was started by the Episcopal Youth Community in July 2014 to feed the homeless served by Union Gospel Mission of Tarrant County.
Every second Sunday…
We meet at noon the second Sunday of every month to make lunches for the homeless. There are jobs for everyone, young and old. It feels so great to help those in need and answer Jesus’ call to be servant leaders:
“For I was hungry, and you fed me. I was thirsty, and you gave me a drink. I was a stranger, and you invited me into your home.” Matthew 25:35
Be an Early Bird!
We always need folks who can help set up beforehand to set out supplies for the noon packing. To be an early bird, please contact email@example.com.
Looking for Drivers
Want to help bring the lunches to Union Gospel Mission? We are always looking for those willing to take the lunches down to the folks at Union Gospel Mission. Union Gospel Mission is located at 1321 E Lancaster Ave, Fort Worth, TX 76102.
Contact firstname.lastname@example.org if you are able to help out.
In October 2014 we started using sunflower seed butter instead of peanut butter to make our “pbj’s.” We want to make sure that anyone served at Union Gospel Mission can enjoy a sandwich, even with a peanut or tree nut allergy. We also want to keep any volunteer and all those with a nut allergy safe in a “peanut-free” prep area. We would love donations of any sunflower seed butter, which can be found locally at Sprouts and Tom Thumb or bought online.
