In her children’s sermon this week, Youth Minister, Megan Grant talks to the kids about the importance of friendships. Jesus was a teacher, but he also considered his disciples to be his friends. Megan asks the kids to think about what it means to be a friend; what are the things we can do to let someone know that we are their friend? Megan also tells the story of St. Martin, and how his kindness in giving up half his cloak to a beggar on the street led him to continue that kindness throughout his life, in the footsteps of Jesus. Megan encourages all of us to be like Jesus and like St. Martin by loving and sacrificing on behalf of our friends.
