Sermon Series For Lent and Easter: The Eucharist

We will be having a sermon series about The Eucharist during the liturgical seasons of Lent and Easter. Whether you’ve been an Episcopalian for a long time or you’re new to our church, this teaching series will let us examine the heart of our worship.

One of the definitions of worship is “worthship,” giving God his worth. Someone has given an additional definition of worship as it might apply to the Anglican Communion and to The Episcopal Church:  “Worship is the attempt to create an atmosphere in which we can know God’s love and make God’s love known.” What we will be exploring in this series is, “How do we do this in our liturgy?”

The series will run from March 9 to June 1, though we’ll skip some April days – Palm Sunday, Easter, and when Bishop High is with us on April 27. The series outline and schedule is:

  • March 8 & 9  – Overview
  • March 15 & 16 – Beginning, Processional, “Blessed Be God”, Collect for Purity, Gloria/Kyrie/Trisagion, Collect of the Day
