St. Martin-in-the-Fields Episcopal Church is currently looking for one Nursery Director and 2-3 Nursery Assistants. Applicants must be polite, friendly, and courteous to all children, parents, and volunteers. The Nursery works closely with the Children’s Minister to nurture and prepare children in Christian Formation.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: feeding, changing diapers, escorting to the bathroom, maintaining a safe environment, putting children down for naps, holding, or sitting with and cheerfully interacting with children through games, stories, play and prayer.
May be asked to work in the nursery during other church events or meetings not on Sundays.
Nursery Director
Pay is $14/hour
Experience:
- Childcare: 1 year preferred
Requirements:
- Must be 21 or older
- Pass a background check
- Be or become Safe Church Certified (St. Martin’s will provide the online materials needed)
- Be or become CPR/First Aid Certified
Hours:
- Sundays from 9 am – 12 pm (includes holidays)
- Must be able to commit to every Sunday, or provide an approved substitute for days you cannot make
Responsibilities:
- Manage & schedule nursery assistants
- Responsible for caring for children ages 0-3 years old; diaper changes and other clean up may be necessary
Nursery Assistant
Pay is $10-$12/hour depending on experience
Experience:
- No experience required, however, familiarity and comfort working with children is a plus
Requirements:
- Age 15+
- Pass a background check (age 18+)
- Be or become Safe Church Certified (St. Martin’s will provide the online materials needed)
- Be or become CPR/First Aid Certified
Hours:
- Sundays from 9 am – 12 pm (includes holidays)
- Must be able to commit to every Sunday you are scheduled for
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate with Nursery Director regarding schedule
- Responsible for caring for children ages 0-3 years old; diaper changes and other clean up may be necessary
