St. Martin-in-the-Fields Episcopal Church kicked off Advent in style!
On Saturday, December 2, we gathered in the afternoon and into the evening and decorated Advent wreaths, made gingerbread houses, worshipped, listened to seasonal piano music, enjoyed handmade items, and ate together. We saw God in the faces of the people we chatted with. We felt God’s Spirit in our simple worship. We felt blessed by shared food and new friends.

On Sunday, December 3, we shared our regular first Sunday worship. We lit the advent wreath, watched an Advent video as part of the sermon, and heard from Mrs. Claus about the real St. Nicholas. And we got to shop more of handmade items in the Unique Boutique! The Prayer Shawl Ministry made $976 in the Unique Boutique. They will use that to buy yarn to knit and crochet prayer shawls, chemo caps, and other items for comfort and solace for people who are in need or who are hurting. They wrap others in love with every stitch!
