Fr. William Winston will supply for Christmas Services
Fr. William Winston was born in Temple, TX. Between being an Air Force brat and a parish priest, he has lived in many states and a couple countries. His wife of 46 years, Charlotte Rather, is also from Temple. They both enjoy gardening, as well as the great art and athletic options that Fort Worth and the Metroplex afford. Fr. Winston has been associated with the Society of St. John the Evangelist for 37 years, and with the Phi Kappa Tau Fraternity for 42 years.
In his professional life he has served as curate, vicar, rector, college chaplain and a teacher of Holy Scripture and other courses at the college level for 15 years. He has also taught adult literacy to hearing, deaf, and ESL students. While serving as rector of St. John’s, Bangor, ME, he worked with author Stephen King on his book “Desperation,” about the triumph of good over evil.
Fr. Winston has a Master’s degree in spiritual direction from the Center for Christian Spirituality of the General Theological Seminary, NYC.
“In my retirement, my wife and I are active in the Fort Worth Japanese Society, as well as several botanical and museum groups. I’m active in the Fort Worth and Dallas Bonsai Societies and am a Japanese language student.”
