The Rev. Susan Slaughter’s retirement celebration
The Rev. Susan Slaughter, our assisting priest, will retire February 25, 2018. Mother Susan’s last Sunday at St. Martin’s will be that day.
Susan came to St. Martin’s in spring of 2015, joining us in the pew in worship, and she has served as our assisting priest since August 2015. We have all felt the warmth and sincerity of her welcome in our worship. We have all appreciated the depth of her sermons, always assuring us that God loves us. She has comforted and reassured so many through pastoral care in hospitals and homes. She’s an accomplished teacher, as evidenced in our Wednesday Study group. In our Sunday Bible Study, she’s regularly helped us deeply explore what God’s Word has for us. We’ve had glimpses of her ministry at Starbucks, where she’s helped others connect with faith and work out the kinks in life. We are grateful for Susan’s service among us.
We’ll celebrate her ministry at a reception at noon on February 25, so please come and show your appreciation. Please consider sharing the impact she has had in our church or in your life in writing to her or at her reception. Let’s show her our love and wish her an enjoyable time with her son and daughter-in-law in the Atlanta area.
