A Good Friday Invitation

St. Martin-in-the-Fields invites you to experience the Good Friday family service at 5:30pm on April 3 in the church sanctuary. This teen-led service asks all ages to join Jesus on a journey that leads to the cross with interactive stations, including a Lego cross. Lego pieces representing different emotions of anger, sadness and even gratitude will be used to “build” the cross, reflecting color and feelings. We’ll taste the salty, bitter tears of Jesus’ followers and cover a large wooden cross with love notes to remember loved ones and Jesus.

This service was created for anyone seeking to experience an interactive Good Friday worship opportunity. It will place you on the road to the cross, offering a space to contemplate the journey, pain, sadness and immeasurable love during Lent and Holy Week. ¬†There is something for everyone, including a special performance of “Were You There When They Crucified My Lord?” by one of our teenagers at St. Martin’s. This service will end with hot crossed buns being passed out as a tasty and symbolic treat.

Join us for this service! All are welcome to this fresh and meaningful worship experience that will feed your faith. Childcare for very young children will be available in the nursery, but even our youngest children are welcome to be a part of this service. A traditional Good Friday evening service will also be held at 7pm in the sanctuary with childcare available.
